Add a Watermark to PDF Online

Text watermarks with live preview - tiled/centered, opacity, angle, color

Stamp "CONFIDENTIAL" on a contract, add "For XYZ hiring only" to your resume, or protect a portfolio with a copyright notice - a text watermark is the first line of defense against document misuse. This free tool offers tiled and centered layouts with adjustable opacity, rotation, font size, and color, and shows a live preview of the final result.

The watermark is written into the PDF page content stream and becomes part of the document - ordinary readers cannot remove it with a click. And since files needing watermarks are usually the sensitive ones, everything is processed locally with no upload.

After watermarking you can save directly, or continue in the editor to add a bookmark outline or compress the file - all in one pass.

How to use

  1. Open the PDF that needs a watermark
  2. Type the watermark text in the dialog
  3. Adjust layout (tiled/centered), opacity, angle, and color with live preview
  4. Apply and save the watermarked PDF

FAQ

Are non-Latin characters supported?

Yes. A CJK-capable font is embedded (with subsetting), so Chinese and other non-Latin watermarks render correctly without bloating the file.

Can the watermark be removed?

It is written into the page content, so ordinary readers cannot simply delete it. Note that no watermark is technically irremovable - combine with encryption for important documents.

Can I watermark specific pages only?

The current version watermarks all pages. To watermark a subset, split the PDF first, watermark, then merge back.

Are image watermarks supported?

Text watermarks for now; image watermarks are on the roadmap.
